The Junipero Serra Cavaliers took on host Oceanside High School pirates in a non-league outing Friday September 6th.
The Cavaliers dominated the game and came up with the road victory by a count of 50-39. With another win, Serra improves their record to (2-0) and also moved up the DigitalSports National Football Rankings to #7 in the nation!
Just when Serra seemed to have nothing left in the take at 39-28 in the fourth quarter, Malachi Mageo made a spectacular interception and returned it for a 12-yard touchdown, which seemed to have swung the momentum for the remainder of the game. Big play after big play, Serra fought back, with the pressure lifting when Jordan Lasley caught a 54-touchdown from Jalen Greene.
Greene had a spectacular night, completing 21 of 36 for 306 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
Lasley had four catches for 97 yards and three touchdowns on his own, while Adoree’ Jackson had nine catches for 104 yards, and a touchdown.
The Cavaliers host the Notre Dame (CA) Knights in another non-league matchup Friday, September 13th.
