California’s 3rd highest ranked team and 12th in the DigitalSports National Rankings, Serra, was put in an unusual and uncomfortable position in the beginning of their game against St. Francis on November 1.  Both teams went into the contest at 8-0, with St. Francis ranking within the state’s Top 25.

The Golden Knights, even as the underdogs, got off to a fantastic start, outscoring Serra 21-7 in the first quarter.

The second quarter was a different story.  Serra started attacking and St. Francis had no response.  The Cavaliers scored two touchdowns to tie the game at 21 by the half.  A scoreless third quarter sent the game into the final quarter still tied.

Serra’s all-star Jalen Green broke the when the quarterback broke out on a 50-yard run for a touchdown.  Soon after, Green hit Adoree’ Jackson for a pass and run for a 68-yard score.

With nine minutes left in the game, the Cavs led by 14 after scoring 28 unanswered points.  Continuing to stifle St. Francis’ offense, Serra closed the out the game ahead 35-21.

Jalen Green showed just how important he is to Serra’s offense, involved in all five touchdowns.  Green threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns and added on 90 rushing yards and another two touchdowns.

Now at 9-0, Serra prepares for their next match on November 8 against St. Paul.  One more win puts gives the Cavs an undefeated regular season.
