Ranked 11th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings and 3rd in California, Gardena Serra is certainly a force to be reckoned with. On Friday, Chaminade felt all the power of the Cavaliers as Serra shutout Chaminade 36-0.
On the second play of the game, Jordan Lasley caught a 76-yard from Jalen Greene. From there, it was smooth sailing for the Cavs.
Serra’s ground game was on top form. Greene rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns Darrion Naylor added on 114 more yards and a touchdown. Adoree’ Jackson rushed for 92 yards, but all three of his touchdown runs were called back due to penalties.
Perhaps even more impressive was Serra’s defense. In their seven games thus far, Chaminade has produced over 45 points five times, and yet the Cavaliers kept them from finding the scoreboard. Linebacker Jack Houston led the way, shutting down Chaminade’s ground game. Serra’s secondary kept the Eagles from gaining any momentum through the air, with Jackson acquiring an interception.
This impressive win puts Serra at 7-0. The Cavs’ next host Cathedral on October 25 at 7:00p.
